Introduction
The City & Guilds International ESOL qualifications will help you demonstrate your ability to communicate in English to enable you to work or study in English-speaking countries and/or environments. City & Guilds ESOL Skills for Life certificates test the English of adults who live, work or study in England, Wales or Northern Ireland.
Duration
Guided learning hoursGuided learning hours are the hours learners spend learning with training provider or on their own. The guided learning hours for this qualification are:
- Entry Level 1: 90-120 hours
- Entry Level 2: 90-120 hours
- Entry Level 3: 90-120 hours
- Level 1: 90-120 hours
- Level 2: 90-120 hours
- Level 3: 90-120 hours.
Study level - IESOL (Preliminary –A1, Access-A2, Achiever-B1, Communicator-B2, Expert-C1, mastery-C2)
Course Objectives
International ESOL qualifications are available at six levels and are benchmarked to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). You'll cover:- reading English texts
- writing in English
- listening to and understanding English.
The International ESOL Diploma is a combination of City & Guilds International ESOL (and International Spoken ESOL. The qualification assesses all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Entry requirements
The International ESOL qualifications are for anyone who is a non-native speaker of English and who would like to demonstrate their ability to communicate in English.Many English-speaking universities accept this qualification as evidence of language proficiency for entry on to their courses.
